The Author Mitzi Perdue, wife of the late Frank Perdue, earned degrees from Harvard University and George Washington University. As a former rice grower, and also syndicated columnist, and television and radio host, she frequently gives inspirational talks, encouraging people (particularly young people) to be all they can be.

While her husband was growing his company from a father-son operation to a worldwide business with almost 20,000 employees, Mitzi Perdue either saw or heard about much of the experience, learning about it either directly from her husband, or from talking with the more than 130 people she interviewed. She had the unique opportunity to ask Frank, day by day, about his innovative and bold approaches to business problems and opportunities. As a prolific writer and trained journalist, she’ll share with you the untold story of what it took and why he did it.

The Pen & The Plate presents Aline Kominsky-Crumb at Alison Eighteen Restaurant.  Supporters and fans enjoyed American Underground Comics Artist Aline Kominsky Crumb's latest achievement a book co-written with her Husband Robert Crumb.

DRAWN TOGETHER includes all their full color New Yorker strips for the first time, in which the two irreverently report from the red carpet of such swank venues as the Cannes Film Festival and New York’s Fashion week. It has-been R. Crumb’s somewhat infamous relationship with women that has been the subject of so much controversy and fascination over the years, but in this new collection we get the full scope and tenor of his relationship with the woman in his life, written and drawn from a shared perspective R. Crumb, the author of numerous comic works, is one of thepioneers of underground comics.

Aline Crumb is an American underground comics artist and the author of Need More Love: A Graphic Memoir. They live in southern France.
Beginning in the 1970s, Aline and R. Crumb embarked on a working partnership that would test the resolve of most couples. Yet in strips like Dirty Laundry Comics and Self Loathing Comics the two brilliantly laid out in startling candor and wicked humor what it means to be the George and Gracie of the cartoon world.

From their early courtship to their subsequent marriage and the birth of their daughter, Sophie, the Crumbs never shied from laying it all out. In trademark shocking manner, they documented the daily humiliations alongside personal triumphs, the brushes with fame and, of course, and their legendary sexual hi-jinx. At each step Aline, a pioneering comics artist in her own right who played a large role in the women’s comics movement of the early 70s, proves herself to be every bit the match for R. Crumb.

Alison Eighteen Restaurant is not just about dinner.  It’s about having a home away from home.  In their downstairs space (becoming known as the rec room Alison never had growing up), in addition to just having a drink or a light bite, or continuing the tradition of their successful authors series in the Hamptons, they will continue to be host public events including a series of film showings, music evenings, authors & artists dinners and talks featuring special guests, creating our version of a Jazz Age salon.

New York Socialites, Members of the Press and Supporters  attended the glamorous  launch party for Life Coach, Susan Korwin's newly released publication, "Simple Strides Toward Positive Change: Lessons from Life Coaching" at the World Trump Bar on January 26, 2012.

The publication is based on Ms. Korwin’s years of experience helping people modify their lives for the better. Ms. Korwin's warm, supportive advice assists readers in helping understand that while change isn’t always easy, it’s always possible. Ms. Korwin focuses on five significant areas that can make a difference in life coaching; Troubleshooting, Creating Peace Within, Conditioning Yourself for Success, Exercise and Eating Right, Beauty and Personal Style. Her publication is now available for purchase on Susan's website and on Amazon for Kindle.

Ms. Korwin reveals, “For many years, people, including total strangers, sought my advice on subjects ranging from style to relationships to exercise and personal wellness. I was always quick to help, whether standing on line at the grocery store or while comforting a friend in a dilemma. I truly believe we all have unique talents that should be shared with others. Once my three sons were older, I decided that all the advice I was giving out would make for a great career choice. I worked as a personal shopper, and found that most of my clients regularly criticized their own appearance, calling themselves fat and ugly. That always amazed me, because there was no basis for it in reality. It was then that I knew that happiness and a fulfilling life weren't’ just about the outside. The inside is what needs to be solid if the foundation is to be stable.”

Susan is no stranger to experiencing anxiety, insecurity, feelings of hopelessness and a lot of other negative feelings. She learned through a great deal of hard work that ill habits can be broken and negative thoughts can be reversed. "Who better to empathize than a person who has been there," expresses Susan Korwin.

As a result of receiving many personal emails and letters of appreciation from her readers and fans she decided to pen a  book based on her articles on the lessons she learned through life coaching. It was Susan's way of sharing hard-earned experience with acquaintances including the many friends she’s never met and the friends to meet in the future.
