www.ubmfashion.com/shows/sole-commerceThe styles shown are for the Resort/Spring/Summer 2017 season. Some key trends for the season are metallics, pom poms, tassels, glitter and bright colors galore. Looking to take a vacation to a Caribbean Island then don't forget to take some of these sandals with you. The vendors I interviewed sell from their websites so please visit them to find out more information about the styles shown and to order.
This all leather line of strappy sandals was started in San Tropez in 1977 by Mo Belarbi. My photos only show a few different looks but they offer 45 different styles. All sandals come with padded inner soles for walking with comfort and outer soles in leather or PVC which are very flexible for long walks on the boardwalk at the beach. Fun Collections are Metalized Rocks that have gold and silver accents, Horizon Folk that are embellished with colored fringe/tanned hues, Pacific Pop is reminiscent of the 1960's Hippie Era, Marina Shaded reminds you of a typical village in the south of France, and Palm d'or which makes you think of harbors and yachts. Great sandals to show off a pretty pedicure and beautiful looking feet. Sizes 5 1/2 to 10 1/2. WWW.INFO@WILDTANGENTMARKETING.COM
A female oriented line of shoes with interchangeable heels that come in three heights and interchangeable straps in different color ways that make up 200 combinations. Lambskin and calfskin uppers with synthetic soles that are made in Brazil make a perfect walking shoe for the career city woman. What attracted me to this line was the fuller front for they have lots of toe room and don't squeeze the toes. I'm always looking for a shoe to go with tailored clothing that will fit my wide feet which are hard to come by in the major labels. Yes, it's me modeling the shoes so that you can see how great they look on a wider foot that has pounded the pavement of NYC too many years. The ladies that design the line also live in NYC so they understand a shoe with the heel height that is optimal for walking. The shoes can be worn as mules without straps also. Whole sizes 6-10. Prices $130.00- $185.00 for the base shoe and the kits are $45.00 -$85.00. To see how to buy the different kits and shoes they offer WWW.ALTERRENY.COM
LA MAISON DE L'ESPADRILLE
Photos- and article by Patricia Parenti
These authentic Espadrilles are handmade in the South of France and are the everyday shoes in that area of the country. This is a family business of three generations and I had the pleasure of meeting a couple of generations at Sole Commerce. They use a special technique to adhere fabric to the different kinds of soles. The layers of these beautiful casual resort shoes are rubber soles, jute middle wrapped around the part between the upper and sole, with the upper available in glitter, metallic, linen and printed cotton in plain and floral prints. Some of the easy to wear styles are sling back, slides, high and low wedges, flats, lace up, tie and slippers. The prices range from $49.00 for a classic style to $150.00 for a lace up. Make sure when you come to NYC you go to NOMA BOUTIQUE, 321 1/2 Bleecker Street, NYC, NY 10014, telephone 212-242-2977 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
