ACCESSORIE CIRCUIT/INTERMEZZO COLLECTIONS

Hello Darlings, Welcome Back to Cognac's Corner Magazine

Patricia Parenti Poses for a Photo-op at ACCESSORIE CIRCUIT/INTERMEZZO COLLECTIONS Show

Held at Jacob Javits Center in NYC May 2-4, 2016. UBM the international fashion community's foremost trade show produced this show on premier resources for what's new and next in contemporary, designer ready-to-wear and accessories. With about 500 exhibitors the show offers a comprehensive and fluid experience with a wide range of established and up and coming designers all under one roof. What's new is that UBM has bought Business Journals Accessories The Show, Fame and Moda Trade Shows and one badge grants you access to both shows. You may ask what is the difference between the shows. Well Accessorie Circuit has more high end and trendy designers whereas Accessories The Show is composed or more classic lines at less expensive price points. Intermezzo Collections is for store and website buyers to get immediate season clothing to sell that is hip and happening at Bloomingdales prices.  Moda is more geared toward a traditional and Missy market.  Fame is for someone who dresses like me no matter what their age meaning contemporary/junior but at more moderate price points.

LOVE BINETTI BY DIEGO BINETTI

First of all I love love everything Binetti designs. Luz (sales manager whom I interviewed), Diego and I have been friends for a few years now. I met them at their runway show during NYC fashion week about five years ago. For my special birthday party this year they gave me a cocktail purse similar to the blue one on the left hanging for which I absolutely love and receive many compliments when I wear it. The fall collection's inspiration is from travels throughout the world which both Luz and Binetti both do lots of so it's about the merging of cultures. Luz told me "the line is about an ethical cultural vibe rich with nomads combined with a city slicker edge." The bags are all handmade in India with trims/tassels/pom poms that have a playful edge using vibrant colors. What I love about the bags is the experimentation with different textures and materials such as faux shearling mixed with suede, 100% cotton and silk blend fringe bags, cocktail domed purses made in copper and iron implanted with a mosaic of stones such as malachite, lapizrazuli, jet, bowlite and blue-green polished jade. The Binetti girl is a traveler whose priority is comfort with fashion pieces that have an artistic flair, are unusual and richly embellished. Special thanks to Akansha Yi (their assistant) for help with the interview. This collection belongs in Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus in my opinion for it totally speaks to their lady!! Retail prices for purses $100.00-$400.00. Clothing $200.00-$1,200.00 To see where you can buy the purse charms, bags and clothing go to www.diegobinetti.com

ALICE MC CALL

Romantic feeling with a modern twist is what this collection is all about. Alice got her start from being a London stylist and designing one of a kind pieces for the Portobello Market. It's designed out of Sydney, Australia and produced out of fair trade factories in China. Some wonderful and interesting facts about the factories she uses are organic vegetables are being grown on the roof. Some other ways Alice does philanthropic work - Assist women getting back into the workforce after having children, uses Artisans whom do traditional hand embroidery, macrame and weaving all in China. All of the beautiful lace fabrics are specially created for the clothes in house. I'll describe some of the beautiful silhouettes hanging on the racks and they are short play suits for party or beach, long lace dresses with short slip that matches, off the shoulder tops which is a signature piece of hers, mix and match knits such as a long skirt with a slit and matching crop top, hot pants with matching top with asymmetrical hem and last but not least high waist bell bottom pants that are very sheer but so sexy.  All in all a very pretty and feminine line. Retail price points $200.00-$1,400.00. Some of the pieces are sold at the Intermix chain store on the East Coast or you can buy from the website

MY BEACHY SIDE

I love this line for it's totally unusual and perfect for bare feet at the beach and a great idea for beautiful feet with a fresh pedicure for it makes them get noticed. The foot accessories are hand crocheted in rayon yarn in Turkey by Syrian refugees and Turkish woman whom are under privileged, unemployed or the victims of domestic violence. Hey it's all about women helping women. These ladies do beautiful work with not a stitch out of place. The pouches are in neon colors from acrylic yarn. These accessories are made to be worn barefoot, layer with sandals or be leg accessories. They are made in 20 different styles in many colors, and are perfect to dress up any flat. It all started when owner/designer Gamze Ates was getting married on the beach in St. Barts and looked at her feet and realized she needed something more that just being barefoot. I think Cognac Wellerlane whose blog I write for should be wearing these for she lives at the beach during the summer and loves to accessorize herself. Retail prices $20.00-$150.00 and well worth it for your helping someone's life by buying this merchandise. It's still summer out so you can still wear this merchandise to the beach, pool or even pool party! JUST LIVE

This is my motto in life!! I picked this collection to interview because of the way this very young girl looked in it. Her body was totally rocking and her legs strong from exercising so much. I've been working out with weights for 36 years and couldn't even look like her in this performance collection. Because I have been exercising so many years I'm a pro at the correct fit of work out wear though. In the bottom photo I had the girl position herself like this to show that these pants don't slip down to the crack of your butt because they are have a high waist (which I love) and non slippage is an extremely important feature when buying leggings. The reason this collection is so great is because of the performance fabric yolon which is a polyester blend in the form of a compression fabric which is smooth and not see thru. Lets face it acts like an old fashion girdle holding all your bulges in and that's what we want ladies right or at least I do!  The prints are loud and edgy (that's what I like prints to get noticed in while working out at the gym with all the guys). The line is multi purpose because you can layer a tank over the bra top and go out into the street from the gym. Styles are capri/ankle length pants, jumpsuits, tee shirts, tank tops, bra tops, shorts and matching headbands. Retail prices for bottoms $74.00-$86.00, tops $32.00-$54.00 and you can order them at www.justlive.com.
