ANTLER & WOODS concept is where country roads and city streets collide. The owners live in Brooklyn but have some country roots to the city. They created the name while walking thru woods in Upstate NY where they saw lots of deer. Their feelings about the collection are that you can take their clothing and accessories on any adventure. The line consists of heavily patterned mixtures in bathing suits, jackets, T shirts, sweatshirts, sneakers and backpacks. Largest part of line in baseball caps made in America. www.anterandwoodscom. Please visit in person at The A & W Store, 374 Atlantic Avenue, in downtown Brooklyn, NY between Bond and Hoyt Streets. Open Wednesday thru Sunday 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM

ROAMERS AND SEEKERS  Seasoned pro Burt Bradley had worked for many years for sportswear companies before taking his expertise on his own. From working in Hong Kong he got together with industry friends to start this label. The name of the line means trying to find your own way in life. Since I'm considered an expert in the fashion industry about textiles and quality of garments I really enjoyed interviewing him because we had so much to talk about.  I thought his plaid three in one parka in the top two photos above was an excellent garment that would really keep you warm in the freezing weather. It's innermost layer is Sherpa, the second layer is wool, and the lining is taffeta and to make the quality even better it has bound seams. His reversible shirt outside is cotton oxford twill and reverses to flannel which are brushed on the inside for warmth. Sweatshirts have anti pilling treatment and that is very important to me and most people since most garments you buy nowadays pill after just one wearing. His tee's use a sanded cotton technique above brushing. He also have shorts and matching casual shirts in many trendy patterns.  All of his fabrics he sourced himself which means they are top notch quality and he pays special attention to detail and trim. Retail prices $50.00 - $300.00. www.roamersandseekers.co.uk

KENT & BOND  is made in the USA and the sign in the first photo tells it all. This brand has a rustic heritage but made for the refined modern man. The collection was founded by two men from Canada and Maine that have an appreciation for wilderness and all things authentic.  Their concept is men want performance products so they pack as much performance or functionality into each of their products as they possibly can without the harsh chemicals.  Each product is unique with the soap bars having charcoal pine in them. "Because a man, his skin and his regimen should be uncomplicated" is their slogan. The company is based in Long Island City, Queens. The company donates one bar of soap around the world for every item purchased from their line. You can order these products from their website. www.kentandbond.com

DELA COMMUNE BY REESE DELUCA is a line of denim made for denim loving people. DeLa Commune means of the community. The collection is made in Los Angeles. Special features are the ripping and distressing of the denim which is very trendy right now. The mannequin in the above photo shows some other hip pieces of the line which are the black motorcycle jacket with silver trim and plaid shirt. Looks like this are meant for the guy who wants to get up in the morning, get dressed fast and still look like he fits in with his crowd of friends. Well when a guy isn't hanging out he needs leisure clothes for at home. The olive sweat pant and sweatshirt are in a distressed fabric but very soft to the touch.
