Jenny Ljungberg Proud Owner of c/o Hotels and TV Host Cognac Wellerlane pose for a photo-op at c/o Maidstone
The Hamptons International Festival celebrated this season with many important sponsors including Champagne Piper-Heidsieck and c/o The Maidstone Boutique Hotel in East Hampton. I had the chance to interview Director of Public Relations Kai Rosenthal from Piper Heidsieck and Owner Jenny Ljungberg at the Festival.
PIPER-HEIDSIECK is a Champagne house from the Champagne region of France. This special champagne was founded by Florens-Louis Heidsieck in 1785 in Reims, the Heidsieck name was combined with the Piper name in 1838. In 1985, PIPER-HEIDSIECK became part of the Rémy Cointreau wine and spirits group. The company was sold in 2011 to EPI (Européenne de Participation Industrielle), a privately owned holding company of French luxury brands, presided by Christopher Descours.
Cécile Bonnefond is now the CEO of PIPER-HEIDSIECK.

As Proud Owner of c/o Hotels, Jenny Ljungberg owns six landmark hotels and oversees all aspects of her c/o lifestyle brand. Scandinavian Cozy is a term she coined to describe the hotels’ welcoming blend of American ease and sophisticated Scandinavian sensibility. Her hotels offer a comforting mix of environmentally friendly spaces, hi-tech amenities, Old World Charm and Slow Food Restaurants. Jenny’s most recent acquisition, the century old c/o The Maidstone in East Hampton, New York, marks c/o Hotels’ entry into the United States.
Jenny is a third generation entrepreneur whose Swedish family founded the real estate and development business Atrium Ljungberg (formerly LjungbergGruppen). In 1997, Jenny and her father launched Tage Hotels and purchased historic Swedish properties: Grythyttan Inn, established in 1640 and Häringe Palace, dating back to 1657.
During her tenure at Tage Hotels, Jenny was responsible for branding and marketing. Additionally, she introduced educational policies and career counseling for all staff. Jenny played a key role in introducing the Slow Food movement to the Scandinavian hospitality industry and continued that trademark behavior when launching the acclaimed ‘The Living Room’ at c/o The Maidstone. This has subsequently become a cornerstone of c/o Hotels. In 2004, Jenny was named CEO of the group of hotels. Three years later, she purchased the family’s company shares and assumed sole control of its hotel portfolio, renaming the brand c/o Hotels.
Born in Sweden in 1974, Jenny moved to the United States with her family at the age of 13. After receiving her primary education in New York, Jenny graduated from high school in Brussels, received a Bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and, most recently, earned her MBA from Columbia University. To supplement her formal education, Jenny received extensive hotel operating experience with the Marriott Hotel organization in Amsterdam, one of the properties owned by her family.
Jenny spends the majority of her time acting as Creative Director of her lifestyle hotel, c/o The Maidstone in the Hamptons, NY, as well as her five other historic hotels in Sweden. When you spot Jenny at any of her hotels, she’ll likely be trailed by her dog, Lexington. She splits her time between Stockholm, New York, the Hamptons and Los Angeles and is constantly on the lookout for c/o Hotels’ next venture.
