Celebrities, diplomats, investors, developers, filmmakers and some of the leading business professionals in the world gathered at the World Bar to celebrate the launch of the Spring Edition of Cognac's Corner Magazine and donate towards Habitat for Humanity.

Celebrity Real Estate Broker Kristin A Thomas co-hosted this premier charity event in support of NYC's Habitat for Humanity.

The Spring season kicked off with the help of President of Talent Production Associates, Mr. Al Guglielmo and Filmmaker Solomon Chertok at the glamorous upscale cocktail lounge at the World Bar located in the luxury Trump Towers located at 845 United Nations Plaza on First Avenue right across the Street from the United Nations Between 47th and 48th Street.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. Habitat for Humanity builds with people in need regardless of race or religion. The organization welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds.  Habitat for Humanity houses are simple, decent and affordable to low-income families.

The charity is responsible for building energy-efficient, sustainable housing. In the U.S., Habitat for Humanity lends no-profit, no-interest mortgage loans to its beneficiary families. On a global scale, Habitat’s traditional model is not always possible. Their international housing finance programs consist of innovative housing finance practices and/or partnerships with microfinance organizations.

Habitat affiliates work locally in communities around the world to select and support homeowners, organize volunteers and coordinate house building and repair. Habitat for Humanity serves homeowners that  are selected based on their need for housing, their ability to repay a mortgage and their willingness to work in partnership with Habitat.  Habitat does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity or any other difference.

Since its founding in 1976, Habitat for Humanity has helped build or repair over 500,000 houses and served over 2 million people around the world.

Nearly 2 billion people around the world live in slum housing and over 100 million are homeless. Habitat for Humanity is needed to help eliminate poverty by providing simple, decent shelter to those in need.

Families left homeless by natural disasters, war and civil unrest often face dire housing situations as they struggle to rebuild their lives. Habitat for Humanity’s Disaster Response program provides shelter and housing solutions to help these families recover.

Make a difference, please donate, participate and contribute.  For more information please visit http://www.habitat.org
