I had the special pleasure of interviewing Italian Designer Pamela Quinci in the Maybelline Lounge at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
Pamela Quinzi is an Italian Fashion Designer born and raised in Rome,Italy. Her desire for creating beautifully embellished shoes started when she was growing up in Italy.
She studied fashion design with a special emphasis on learning how to create important accessories for the designs she established. In 2005 she graduated and started working in Milan.
She later became involved in developing two collections for the famous Fiorucci brand known as Fiorucci and the Fiorucci Pin Up Collection. Ms. Quinzi was also commissioned to design an exclusive gown for the Italian Actress Asia Argento to be photographed on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. She developed a well respected clothing and accessory line for Shane and a beachwear collection for Cala Di Volpe – Bain De Minuit. She has also worked for Designers Rossana Buriassi, Armani Prive’, Dolce e Gabbana, and Fiona Swarovski.
Recently in 2008 she developed the woman’s shoe collection for Paolo Ferrari’s autumn and winter 2008-09 collection.
In the summer of 2009 after visiting Manhattan to do research, she fell in love New York City “After 10 minuts in Time Square, I knew I had to live in New York! This city bring to my life so much energy every day … and inspire my work. I spent the summer in Manhattan and I returned to Italy to pack up my apartment.” … so NYC won her! She moved to Nyc and started to collaborate as designer for an American company very well known for Handbags in the Fashion world.
In 2010 she established her own Fashion Art-Collection inspired by New York Life, a touch of ‘80s referencing and Baroque allure. Unique pieces handmade, minidresses, shoes and accessories.
Her brand is whimsical, sexy, flirty, fun, and hip. She does research everyday, working with embroidery, lace, vintage pieces, crystals swarovki, giving to her creations a magical fairytale aura.
Her creations are designed for sexy, chic, elegant women or girls that want to look like a New Princess, a Pop Princess!
In April 2010 Pamela featured her first collection in a Fashion Show: “New York Pop Princess” at the Greenhouse nightclubs in Manhattan.
