Evidence A Dance Company‘s 8th Annual On Our Toes in the Hamptons Benefit honored Jon Snow and Lola C. West and  Featured Evidence, A Dance Company.  The Benefit took place at the  HaygroundSchool, Bridgehampton on August 20, 2011 Ronald K. Brown’s internationally acclaimed Evidence, A Dance Company returned once again to the East End for the company’s 8 Annual On Our Toes in the Hamptons Summer Benefit, the premiere African-American cultural event of the Hamptons social season on August 20, 2011 at the Hayground School, 151 Mitchell Lane, Bridgehampton, New York 11932.  
 
 
As always, the elegant tented late afternoon Red Carpet Event featured signature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres by Harlem’s acclaimed 5 and Diamond Restaurant, a special performance of “Ife/My Heart” by Evidence, A Dance Company, luxury auction and dancing with the dancers. Ife/My Heart, a signature piece for the company, was built as the journey of three families to one destination: a place where the heart was open. Ife/My Heart was originally commissioned and performed by the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in 2005.

Among the glamorous guests will be acclaimed opera star Jessye Norman, Law & Order star Tamara Tunie, Jazz vocalist Gregory Generet and Phylicia Rashad   The gala gave awaeds to two dynamic individuals who have effected great change in their respective professions: artist, educator and activist Jon Snow, co-founder of the Hayground School and renowned financial advisor Lola C. West, Managing Director, WestFuller Advisors LLC  Lola C. West is a founding partner of WestFuller Advisors, LLC, a wealth management firm. Long Island comedian Paul Anthony announced and celebrated the launch of the new Hamptons Comedy Festival this summer. "We've been presenting shows in the Hamptons for the past five summers, and it's time that the Hamptons of Long Island had their own Comedy Festival.  This summer we're presenting only one show in Southampton as a fundraiser before we launch the extended comedy festival during the summer of 2012." revealed Comedian Paul Anthony, host and Executive Producer. Paul Anthony reveals "Our comedy showcases feature the best comic talent from Long Island and the NYC comedy scene. We'll be featuring great comic talent at some of the coolest alternative venues throughout the Hamptons. This festival will be an extension of our Island-wide comedy festival which is now in its' sixth year and features shows up-Island. Being able to do our first show as a benefit to support Last Chance Animal Rescue makes this an even more meaningful and exciting event for us."
The event took place at the posh 230 Elm Street in Southampton on Thursday, August 11, 2011. 
 
The Long Island Comedy Festival's mission is to promote the art of live stand-up comedy by bringing audiences the very best comedy shows on Long Island year round! Each of their comedy showcases is a hilarious evening of live stand-up comedy featuring top comedians direct from the New York comedy scene and beyond. Several of the comics that are featured call Long Island their home.
 
Proceeds of the Long Island Event will support one of the most import  Benefits in Long Island, Last Chance Animal Rescue.
 
Last Chance Animal Rescue is a Charitable, non profit organization established to save the lives of animals.  The organization rescues animals that are about to be killed and transports them to caring facilities in hopes of finding them a nurturing home. The organization works with local veterinarians for spay-neuter/ medical services until permanent placement is secured into a pre-screened loving home.  The organization depends on donations to continue to save these helpless loving animals from being killed.
 
The event featured  some of the most requested comedians direct from the Long Island Comedy Festival including Chris DiStefano, Mick Thomas, Tim Krompier and Carie Karavas.
